The ultimate goal for fast weight loss is to burn more calories with less effort. Let’s face it: spending several hours a day training at the gym is not practical for most people. Spending too much time working out is exhausting and time-consuming and will eventually lead to burnout.

So how can you burn more calories without exercising for hours? Here are some easy tips.

1. Drink green tea. Drinking green tea is a simple way to raise your metabolism and burn more fat.

2. Move more throughout the day. The more you move, the more calories you burn. Every movement counts, not just the time you dedicate to working out. From fidgeting to taking the stairs, any motion requires energy.

3. Don’t skip meals. A big misconception is that you can save calories and lose weight by skipping meals. It actually lowers your metabolism when you skip a meal. You need to fuel the fire by eating small, frequent meals throughout the day. The side benefit is you will never feel overly hungry and try to compensate by eating too much food.

4. Drink all of your daily recommended water. Create a system to keep track of your water intake if necessary. For instance, move a rubber band from one wrist to the other when you finish a glass. When all the rubber bands have been moved, you know that you have gotten in the minimum amount of water.

5. Switch up your meal plan. Eating the same thing day after day or sticking to the same daily calorie count can cause a plateau. Instead, try mixing things up to keep your body guessing and fire up your metabolism.

6. Switch up your exercise routine. Take your workout outside, try a new sport, vary the intensity of your workout or increase the time you spend working out. Keep your routine fresh to burn more calories.

7. Drink caffeinated beverages or take a caffeinated diet pill. Caffeine is shown to raise your metabolism to burn more fat. It can also increase your energy to get you through a tough workout.

8. Build muscle. Weight training is extremely helpful for weight loss. Muscle burns fat, so increasing muscle mass reshapes your body and changes your body composition.

9. Eat more lean protein. As you build muscle, your body requires a certain amount of lean protein. Protein also helps you feel full longer so you will be less likely to snack between meals.

10. Challenge yourself. You never know what you are capable of until you try. Push yourself to try new activities and step out of your comfort zone to burn more calories and lose weight faster.

If you follow these weight loss tips, you will shed unwanted pounds without becoming a gym rat. A permanent weight loss solution is one that can be incorporated into your life, not completely take over your life. Gradual lifestyle changes are most effective. After several weeks of trying a new activity or changing an unhealthy habit, you can choose a new goal to work on. Keep your weight loss in active status, but don’t let it take over your life. An obsession with weight loss is just as unhealthy as poor eating habits or a sedentary lifestyle. Learn to create balance in your life to lose weight and develop better overall health.

During the last twenty years fertility problems have increased dramatically and it is estimated that 20 to 35 per cent of couples that are experiencing problems with conception.

In order to get pregnant, you need to boost your fertility. There are some steps you you can do naturally to boost your ability to get pregnant.

1. Balanced diet

- Men and women should eat a well balanced diet with plenty of of foods rich in fruit, vegetables and protein products. Hal ini will help boost your energy, keep you healthy and provide the nutrients needed to keep your reproductive system functioning properly.

- cut out coffee and all other foods containing caffeine and all other foods containing caffeine. The intake of two cups of coffee per day or more has been shown to adversely affect female fertility, particularly in women with endometriosis or disease affecting the fallopian tubes. Caffeine is found in the following: chocolate, tea, cocoa, some soft drinks, and some over-the-counter products.

- Drink at least eight glasses of water a day.

- Stop drinking alcohol. Alcohol will affect both you and your partner. In fact, drinking any alcohol at all can reduce your fertility by half – and the more you drink, the less likely you are to conceive.

- Women should replace high sugar snacks with fresh fruit and increase their intake of zinc which is found in fish, nuts and seeds.

- Consume one daily serving of full-fat dairy (i.e., 1 cup whole milk, full-fat yogurt, or 1-2 ounces cheese). That’s because a recent report showed full-fat dairy may help increase fertility in women more so than low-fat/nonfat dairy.

- Cut out smoking. Smoking cigarettes has been known to cause a number of health problems, which may possibly include lowering your sperm count, your semen production, and even your libido (sex drive).

2. Maintain a healthy weight

When it comes to fertility, too thin is as bad as too fat. Being excessively underweight or overweight significantly reduces your ability to conceive.

Fat is essential to fertility and is necessary in order to ovulate. The advice of fertility experts is to eat healthily and to exercise regularly, and to aim for a body mass index (BMI) – your weight in kilograms divided by the square of your height in metres – of between 20 and 25.

3. Reduce stress. Stress can interfere with both the maturation of an egg and the ovulation process in women. Problems such as impotence and difficulty with ejaculation can be the result of emotional tension in men. Try yoga or meditation to help de-stress or see a counselor to learn stress management techniques.

4. Exercise every day for at least 30 minutes. Exercise will help get the blood circulating and flowing through the reproductive system, encouraging regular ovulation. Thirty minutes a day walking, cycling or swimming can increase chances of conception.

5. Have sex regularly. Having sex regularly can improve sperm quality and boost your chances of getting pregnant.

6. Use herbal remedies to increase your fertility. Vitex, also known as chasteberry, can help regulate a woman’s menstrual cycles, promote ovulation, lengthen her luteal phase (the time from ovulation until the first day of the next menstrual period) and regulate her hormone levels. Women can also use dong quai to help regulate their menstrual cycles and balance their hormones. Men may consider using panax ginseng to increase their testosterone levels and improve both sperm motility and sperm count.

7. 7. Do Have Sex the Day Before Ovulation to increase your chance of conceiving, have sex prior to ovulation. Sperm need about 12 hours in the uterus before they can fertilise the egg. Calculate and study your menstrual cycle to determine the time when you are highly fertile and be sure to make love frequently within that fertility window.

8. Do Wear Loose Clothing It has been found that tight clothes may affect fertility in both women and men. Loose clothing such as boxers instead of briefs may help if a man is at risk of having testes at a higher than normal temperature and if his lifestyle involves prolonged sitting.

9. Make Love in the Afternoon. A couple’s most fertile time of day is between 5pm and 7pm. The number and quality of sperm varies throughout the day, peaking in late afternoon with a sperm count that is 35% higher than it is in the morning. Since women are most likely to ovulate between 3 and 7, some researchers suggest couples leave work early for a baby-making rendezvous.

10. Taking vitamins and minerals. vitamins and minerals are necessary because even the best diet in the world will not contain all the nutrients you need to give you the best chance of conceiving. Vitamin B6 can help a woman lengthen her luteal phase. Zinc can help improve the man’s sperm count and quality, and vitamin C can also aid to improve sperm motility and quality.

I feel very fortunate to introduce and interview Sally Taylor, diet therapist and metabolic typing advisor as we delve deeper into the concept of an individual approach to food.

As a diet therapist how important is metabolic typing (mt)?

MT is essential to my practice. I use it as a starting point with all clients. I call myself a Diet Therapist as opposed to a Nutritionist because it reflects the tremendous importance I put on getting the diet right. Unless clients are willing to modify their diet there’s no point in their consulting me. Anything else they do will simply be nibbling at the edges of the problem. I’m not prepared to take on clients who really just want a list of supplements to buy or foods to avoid. That is an allopathic nutrition approach – it treats symptoms without correcting the underlying problems. Diet Therapy is a holistic approach that ensures the body is given all it requires to build health and vitality from the inside out. Many people, doctors included, still don’t understand that it is literally true that we are what we eat. Food is the raw material we consume to constantly build, repair and replace every cell in our body. It is a waste of money to spend a fortune on nutritional supplements or gym membership if one continues to eat nutrient deficient and damaged processed, convenience foods!

Is there such a thing as a healthy diet?

Yes, absolutely, but not a standard one that can be prescribed across the board – the panacea everyone is looking for doesn’t exist. The exact recipe is different for everyone, depending on their MT. The balance of macro and micronutrients required by our bodies to operate at optimal efficiency depends on our genetic inheritance and individual stressors. There are clear basic principles that apply to everyone though: eat organic, whole foods (as close to nature and as unprocessed as possible – ie fresh, raw or lightly cooked), drink plenty of water, avoid toxins such as alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, drugs; and ensure you get adequate daily doses of sunlight, fresh air, exercise, and around 8-hours of quality sleep a night.

What makes MT different from Atkins, Zone, GI, low fat diets?

These diets work for some people, some of the time, and they address some of the issues contributing to weight gain or poor health in some people. The difference between those popular diets and MT is that MT is not “a diet” in the sense that we generally use the word. It is not something one does for a few weeks to lose a few pounds, and then returns to old eating habits. It requires a commitment to a complete lifestyle change. Metabolic Typing is a clinical methodology for identifying the right basic diet for clients, and fine-tuning it to suit their specific biochemistry. Implemented properly, one cannot “fail” on the Metabolic Typing Diet, because it is actually an educational process that teaches clients to listen to their body’s signals and adjust ratios of carbohydrates, proteins and fats to suit their unique metabolism. An individual’s precise nutritional requirements are dependent on their particular interaction of genetics and environment.

In recent years controlled carbohydrate diets such as Atkins, Zone and GI have become popular, despite flying in the face of orthodox advice, because they do work for millions of people. The reason being that they are all concerned with limiting the amount of carbohydrate eaten. Most people, including athletes and active children, eat far too much carbohydrate, in the form of processed, convenience foods. Even if they have already cut out cakes, biscuits, puddings, chocolate etc, they continue to fill up on what they have been told is healthy forms of carbohydrate, such as breakfast cereals, bread, potatoes and pasta. Man is simply not designed to eat this much carbohydrate!

Research has established that stabilising blood sugar levels and reducing insulin output is essential to health. We have two metabolic pathways for generating energy. The one everyone has been concerned with is the process of burning glucose as a fuel. It is a very immediate source of energy, as it can be taken directly from our blood stream, having arrived there as the breakdown product of all digestible carbohydrate, and be stored in our cells in the form of glycogen (the human equivalent of starch). However, once the cells and glycogen stores, mostly in the liver and muscles, are full, glucose excess to requirements is converted to glycerol and fatty acids and combined to form triglycerides. This is the substance that produces body fat. Triglycerides are laid down in fat cells as an energy store. However, the fact that is commonly overlooked is that we can and should also be using fatty acids to produce energy, but we cannot burn our stores of fat when blood glucose or insulin levels are high, which they are pretty constantly for many people.

As for low-fat diets, which have been recommended by Governments and the medical professions to reduce obesity and heart disease for over 30-years, time has shown that they don’t work for the majority. In the three decades since these regimens were adopted as official policy in the US and UK we have seen a huge increase in the incidence of obesity, diabetes and CVD. These concepts are explored in detail in ‘Dr Atkins’ New Diet Revolution’ – a book that I recommend everyone interested in their health reads, together with his lesser known title ‘Dr Atkins’ Age-Defying Diet Revolution’.

I have a great deal of respect for Dr Robert Atkins. It was reading his books that educated me to solve my own health problems, which were weight gain (I was 3-stone overweight), fatigue, and painful knee joints. Both my parents are Type-2 diabetics, with cardiovascular problems and severe arthritis of the knees, so clearly I am at a genetic disadvantage in these areas! Now, at 46-years old, my weight, which I battled with my entire life, is perfect for my build, I have more energy than I’ve ever had, and no health issues. My experience with the Atkins’ Diet led me to formally study nutrition, and through this I discovered Metabolic Typing, which confirmed that I need a high protein/fat, low-carb diet, as I’m a Fast Oxidiser.

MT explains why the Atkins’ Diet does not work for everyone, but all those concerned with regaining and maintaining their health should be aware of the sound scientific principles upon which it is based. Basically, I still adhere to an Atkins-type diet today, but have incorporated the modifications I learnt through MT. I ensure the vast majority of my food is organic and unprocessed, and I steer clear of Soy products – it is, in fact, a cave-man style eating plan.

So why isn’t MT as popular or well-known as these diets?

MT is fast gaining in popularity. It is recommended by many well-known, high profile practitioners and promoters of holistic health and integrated medicine – such as Paul Chek, Dr Joseph Mercola, Dr Dietrich Klinghardt, Dr Etienne Callebout, and the ‘What Doctors Don’t Tell You’ team. But, it is designed principally as a clinical application, rather than a popular ‘diet’. ‘The Metabolic Typing Diet’ book, was written by William Wolcott to fill a gap. It is suitable for those requiring a simplified self-help approach. It enables those who cannot afford the services of a HealthExcel Metabolic Typing Advisor to start down the path to correcting their health problems. If finances are tight, I suggest clients buy that book, and the Atkins’ titles, and see what they can do by themselves first

Is MT difficult to follow, complicated or impractical for the average person?

The beauty of MT is that there is no strict daily diet sheet to follow. You are given clear guidelines as to what constitutes an optimum diet for you. Once you become familiar with your best foods it becomes second nature to eat as per your MT. It’s not something you have to endure for a few weeks before you can return to your previous habits – it’s a lifestyle change. It teaches you how to listen to your body and respond to its messages. And, this is what we must do in order to ensure we can integrate healthy eating into normal, everyday life.

Is someone’s MT fixed in stone? Or can it change with circumstances- if so when?

There are two aspects to our Metabolic Type – our Genetic Type, which is predetermined by internal factors that are inherited – and our Functional Type, which is fluid and affected by external factors. These are all physical and mental stressors basically, such as environment (eg climate, pollution, toxins), illness, activity levels, and the food we eat. Clearly we can’t alter our genes, so what we are doing with MT is tweaking our biochemistry and affecting our Functional Type. Retesting is recommended after following your prescribed MT diet plan for 3-6 months precisely because your functional imbalances will have been corrected, and that may reveal a different underlying Genetic Type. If you continue to follow the original plan you may find that your body chemistry is pushed too far in the opposite direction.

Are all carbs the same?

Definitely not! This is a very important point, Craig. The type of carbohydrate we eat is really key to a diet being healthy or not. Basically, the difference lies in how much the carb has been messed around with! The fresher it is, the closer to nature, the more it looks like it has just come off a tree or out of the ground, the healthier is the carb. In fact, this principle applies to all the macronutrients (ie carbs, fats, proteins), but it is carbs that we tend to process the hell out of and eat in enormous quantity (because it is convenient, and has an addictive quality, totally unlike fats and proteins)! The raw material is cheap and once processed, the finished products keep for a long time, and therefore are very profitable for the food manufacturers and very convenient for consumers. But these highly processed, convenience products are not real food. They bear no resemblance to anything that appears in nature – they are the Frankenstein of food stuffs! Real food goes off quickly; this fake food lasts and lasts! When processed most of the goodness (micronutrients like vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and fibre) is destroyed or discarded and the natural sugar content is concentrated. Artificial preservatives, colours, flavours etc are added – and you end up with a relatively cheap, filling product, with an addictive quality, devoid of nutritional value. For example, whole-grain rice is a perfectly healthy, natural food. By the time it’s been turned into something like rice krispies or rice cakes, it has had all the goodness removed and the sugar content concentrated. It then comprises a whopping 84% carbohydrate – and this is ALL converted to glucose, resulting in a huge blood sugar hit very soon after eating (just look at the total carbohydrate box on the nutrition panel of any packaged foods). Other examples are fresh oranges vs. orange juice, corn-on-the-cob vs. corn flakes, strawberries / blueberries / apples vs. Kellogg’s Fruit Winders (a popular product in children’s lunchboxes), lightly boiled potatoes vs. crisps. It actually drains our body’s reserves of nutrients in order to process this stuff, which is why the manufacturers of breakfast cereals have to add vitamins and minerals to it.

To illustrate this, a famous experiment fed one group of rats on commercial breakfast cereal, and another group on the empty cereal boxes. The group fed the cardboard boxes outlived the group fed the breakfast cereal! I believe the details of this are quoted in a Paul Chek article, available on www.mercola.com

To sum up, we should get the majority of our carbohydrate from fresh vegetables and fruits, in their natural, unadulterated state, with some coming from whole grains if your particular MT can take it. This is what we have evolved to eat – not the fake stuff from packets! No-one needs bread or pasta – despite public and medical opinion, they are NOT health foods!

How long generally does it take for a person to notice significant differences in terms of energy levels, and clarity once they are eating correctly for their metabolic typing?

It can take as little as three days to notice significant improvement but certainly by two weeks many people feel like a new person! The longer you continue eating to your MT (and don’t forget, what is recommended is a lifestyle change, not a two week ‘diet’ fad) the better you will feel, the stronger your body will be and the healthier you will become. In short, you will regain control of your emotions, hormones, weight and health.

Can people react differently then to vitamin and mineral supplements if we react different to the macronutrients? any rules?

Yes, very much so. As with foods, supplements will affect our pH balance and other aspects of body chemistry, depending on one’s MT. With the Intermediate Level test results one is provided with a list of specialist MT supplements that will push body chemistry in the right direction. It gets complicated but, as an example, Fast Oxidisers have a need for more Calcium whilst Slow Oxidisers require more Magnesium. There is a range of specialist supplements developed to support the three basic MTs. However, usually I recommended clients concentrate on getting the diet right first, then we can consider supplements later, adding them if needed to address specific health issues. But, I must underline the fact that getting the food right that we put into our bodies three times a day – that’s around a thousand times a year- is the most important factor!

21st Century lifestyles are the problem. I could go on about this for hours! But it’s probably best to recommend everyone read ‘Lights Out’ by TS Wiley, which looks at it in depth. It explains why our hormones are out of whack, why our immune systems are unable to cope, why we have obesity, diabetes, CVD, cancer etc, etc. From the dietary viewpoint, the problem is that as a society we have become totally dependent on convenience foods – which means carbohydrates. We all lead busy lives, filled up with work and family commitments, and say we have no time to buy fresh food and prepare meals from scratch. But this mentali

When we travel quickly across time zones, the body’s natural clock needs to be reset. This is what causes jet lag, a common disorder once thought to be imaginary, but we now know has a biological basis. Many functions of the body are controlled by time, everything from sleep to the body’s temperature, to what chemicals your body produces, such as melatonin.

Jet lag is a temporary condition that occurs when you change time zones rapidely. Changing time zones rapidly causes the person’s internal clock to be out of sync with the external environment. Jet lag is also called desynchronosis. It can last for a few days or a few weeks.

Jet lag (also known as desynchronosis) is a common sleep disorder and, most importantly, it is a symptom, or set of symptoms, and not a disease. When we talk about a jet lag remedy or a jet lag cure therefore we are not talking about overcoming jet lag directly, but are looking at treating the underlying cause or causes.

Living organisms are accustomed to periods of night and day alternating at set intervals. Most of the human body’s regulating hormones follow this cycle, known as circadian rhythm. The word circadian comes from the Latin, circa, meaning about, and dies, meaning day. These cycles are not exactly 24 hours long, hence the “circa.”

Jet lag causes a combination of symptoms, including daytime sleepiness, disorientation, poor concentration, fatigue, gastrointestinal discomfort, headaches, difficulty falling asleep, and frequent waking from sleep. The symptoms can last from a day to a week or longer, depending on the person and the number of time zones crossed.

There are simple ways before and during a trip to help regulate this imbalance: getting a good nights sleep before the day of departure; exercising for several days before the flight; walking and stretching during the flight; and drinking plenty of fluids. And as exciting and well planned a trip can be, travel can be stressful. Reducing stress is very important too, because it triggers biological stress coping mechanisms that ultimately upsets the circadian rhythm. Acupuncture can help after the flight to reset our internal clock.

Cause of Jetlag

Chronic insomnia (>4 weeks)

Difficulty falling asleep: May be due to poor sleep hygiene, conditioned insomnia (initial acute insomnia progresses to chronic due to maladaptive distorted sleep cognitions), medications (e.g., sedatives, decongestants, oral contraceptive use, antidepressants, bronchodilators), drugs (including over-the-counter and herbal preparations, alcohol, nicotine, illicit drugs), and caffeine (e.g., coffee, soda, medications)

Acupuncture is a major component of the Traditional Asian Medical System. In this system, the body is seen as a delicate balance of two opposing and inseparable forces: Yin and Yang. Health is achieved by maintaining the body in a “balanced state”. A major cause of imbalance is stress. It leads to blockage in the flow of QI (pronounced chee) or vital energy, along pathways known as meridians.

Diet. Although jet lag diets are available, there is no real evidence to support their usefulness and it is probable that any benefit gained is imagined rather than real. In the case of one particular jet lag diet, ‘The Argonne Diet’, evidence has been produced to support the claims made for the diet, however, the test group used for the study (a group of US National Guard soldiers) is hardly representative of the general traveling population.

Any new weight-loss plan has to be viewed against the failure of the diet industry to provide a long term, sustainable means of enabling us to maintain a stable weight. The simple facts are that most people who lose a significant amount of weight will eventually put it back on. Also, the Diet Food and Drink Market alone is worth Billions of Dollars annually and increasing, and yet according to the World Health Organisation (WHO), in 2005, 1.6 BILLION people globally were classified as overweight and that growth is set to continue to $2.3 Billion by 2015. So, the Diet Industry is huge and is predicted to get even bigger but the number of people classified as overweight is going to increase dramatically too.

A major factor in this is we are encouraged to engage in short term dieting – the rapid weight-loss and quick fix diets – to meet our short term needs, without giving too much thought to what happens once we’ve achieved that weight. Nothing stops us from going back to our old habits and that’s how the inevitable cycle progresses.

It’s obvious that we need to reconsider this and view our approach to weight-loss as a permanent change and not just a short term expedient. Permanent change involves looking at an overall method which will not only lose us the weight we need to shift to get down to our desired weight but with just slight adjustments, as opposed to radical changes, will enable us to keep at or around that weight indefinitely.

It’s becoming more and more recognized that a combination of the right foods and some form of exercise are the only way to provide this desired outcome.

With so much misinformation out there, knowing the right foods and exercise is a hard task but the following 7 point plan meets healthy eating requirements without taking the pleasure of out of eating; it provides the essentials to enable our bodies to function properly without reliance on supplements and it gives some pointers to the level of exercise necessary.

The 7 Point Plan:

Point #1 – eat regularly and have nutritious snacks. Your body is programmed to recognize starvation symptoms and will stop burning fat as a survival mechanism. Eating regularly will keep you blood sugar levels stable and you’ll be less likely to want to binge on sugary foods.

Point #2 – avoid sugary refined foods, alcohol and caffeine as much as possible as these lower your metabolism and encourage your body to store calories. Caffeine also increases the reactivity of the body to the stress of everyday life and increased levels of stress negatively affect weight-loss and although it is included as an ingredient in many weight-loss aids, caffeine actually stimulates appetite.

Point #3 – eat plenty of protein. Protein slows down the release of sugars into the blood as it takes longer to digest than carbohydrates. The need to eat protein every day is worth emphasising, because your body can’t store it – you can’t stock up on it by bingeing on protein once a week, for example. Vegetarians needn’t panic as foods such as nuts, seeds, beans, pulses, vegetable protein foods and soya products all contain protein. There are also small amounts in grains and dairy products.

Point #4 – eat complex carbohydrates as they provide sustained energy through releasing it slowly. Complex carbohydrates are often confused with unrefined carbohydrates, but complex in this case refers to how complicated the chemical structure of a carbohydrate is.

There are three kinds of complex carbohydrates:

Glycogen – Which is your body’s major fuel source and is converted into energy.

Starch – which is only a no-no when things like sauces and oils are added to bread, pasta, rice etc.

Fibre – as is found in fruit and vegetables, and which helps your body to process waste and also makes you feel fuller for longer.

Point #5 – eat plenty of essential fats.

Fats and weight-loss – are you kidding? There are bad fats that clog up the arteries and cause all sorts of problems and there are good fats which the body simply can’t live without and it’s these we’re concerned with. The Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9 fatty acids are among the good guys and are also known as essential fatty acids. These EFA’s help keep blood sugar levels stable which we know is important for weight-loss.

Omega 3 fatty acids come from foods like flaxseeds, extra virgin olive oil, green leafy vegetables, and cold water fish such as tuna, sardines, salmon, herring, and lake trout. Omega 6 fatty acids are found in seeds and nuts. Some fish and animal meats also provide a derivative form of Omega 6.

Point #6 – exercise regularly. The good news is you don’t have to become an Olympic athlete. Any exercise for weight-loss and maintenance should be at a level that keeps your body in its fat-burning zone. And this is quite a low level of intensity such as swimming and power walking or even low-intensity aerobic workouts. Consistency is important with exercise and it needs to be done every day or at least every other day.

Point #7 – drink water. Drnking water is being recognized as an important part of weight-loss for a variety of reasons. In simple terms, drinking water before a meal gives the sensation of feeling full which means you will eat less. Water increases metabolism thus burning off fat more quickly and it helps maintain muscle tone. It also aids elimination of toxins released from fat cells as they are used as fuel. The volume of water needed will be determined by a person’s own body size and the amount they are overweight, as well as other factors such as climate or needing to re-hydrate after exercise.

Those 7 points are the basis for a diet and exercise regime which will initially lose you the weight you want and then be adjusted for weight maintenance. Make it the blueprint for your life and say goodbye to serial dieting forever.

When you go on vacation, you usually end up eating a lot and overindulging in alcohol – although you do go back to work looking healthy, tanned, well-rested – although you could be a tad overweight.

But how would you feel if there is a place like a luxurious spa wherein you will feel like you are on vacation?

However, it is minus the overindulging in food and alcohol [Avoid holiday weight gain]. This is exactly what you will get when you visit one of the top 7 luxurious places to lose weight.

What to Look for in a Weight Loss Camp, Luxury Health Spa?

Before revealing the top 7 luxurious places where you can shed off those excess pounds in style, here are a few factors that you need to consider when looking for such a place.

Whether it’s a high-end weight loss camp, a luxury health spa or an exclusive club which has a week-long program to help members lose weight the healthy way – these are a few things that you should keep in mind:

Make sure to choose the right spa

It could be a luxury health spa, a destination spa or a resort spa.

What these facilities do is have a weekend, week-long or even a continuous program where clients will come in with the sole purpose of losing weight the healthy way.

Naturally, there should be healthy cuisine served, plenty of exercise classes that you can join and a really effective and healthy program that will help you reach your weight loss goals.

Ask whether there are in-house nutritionists

Most luxury health spas help clients count the calories on the food that they consume by having in-house nutritionists.

It would be even better if the weight loss camp or luxury health spa can create a personalized food program for you so that you can reach your target weight more quickly.

Check if there are exercise physiologists

Since you will most probably be paying a premium price for your stay in a weight loss camp or a luxury health spa, you might as well what your money is worth.

The establishment that you will visit should have exercise physiologists who can help analyze your current weight and create an exercise program which is suitable for you.

There could be one-on-one sessions or exercise classes that you can join – what’s important is that you are doing what you’re supposed to do at the weight loss camp or luxury spa – which is to shed off the excess pounds that you have.

One final note: Before getting yourself into a program offered by any luxury spa or weight loss camp, make sure to check with your doctor first – especially if you have underlying problems.

There are times when too much exercising or a particular diet may cause complications to your health – so it’s better to be safe and consult your doctor first.

Enumerating the Top 7 Luxurious Places to Lose Weight

So where exactly can you go if you would like to enter a detoxification program, or a diet-and-exercise program that will help you realize your weight loss goals? Take a look at the top 7 luxurious places for you to lose weight:

1. H3i or the Hilton Head Health Weight Loss Spa

The main office of the Hilton Head Health Institute is in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. For more than three decades now, this weight loss spa succeeded in helping overweight adults get fit and live a healthy lifestyle.

They offer the luxurious and comfortable accommodations that the Hilton hotels have been known for – and some interesting aspects of the program include the Spa Cuisine, Yoga and Tai Chi classes, spa treatments, healthy cooking classes – and of course, the personal weight loss plan that they have.

2. The Pritikin Longevity Center & Spa

Situated in a lush tropical setting at the Turnberry Isle Yacht Club in Aventura, Florida, there is no better and more luxurious place to lose weight than here. The magnificent building is just part of the weight loss package that they offer.

When you first pay the facility a visit, you will have a talk with a Pritikin doctor about your health and medical history. Using your medical information, the doctor will then create a personalized exercise and nutritional program for you and would even monitor your progress during the week.

Cardio exercises, aerobic workouts and resistance training are interspersed with visits at the Pritikin Longevity Spa where you can get a massage after a morning workout.

3. Cal-a-Vie

This luxurious health spa encourages healthy living and relaxation. It’s set amidst a 200-acre property north of San Diego.

A typical day starts with a refreshing hike through the hills, followed by cardiovascular exercises.

Expect your lunch portions to be controlled – and aside from the exercise and diet, therapeutic treatments and meditation are also taught at Cal-a-Vie. Interestingly enough, there are also abs and jabs class that the more active spa goers can participate in.

4. The Greenhouse Spa

The main offering of the Greenhouse Spa is their one-week Fat Flush Program. Unfortunately for men, this is a women-only spa. If you’re planning to shed weight and have a few thousand bucks to spend for it, then you can enroll yourself and probably a friend or two at the Fat Flush program where you will be served low-calorie gourmet meals.

No alcohol and caffeine here, though. If you want to have a break in between exercising and your spa sessions, you can go on a chauffeured shopping trip. How’s that for the ultimate weight loss luxury?

5. The Canyon Ranch Resort & Hotel

This destination spa has three locations: Tucson, Arizona; Lennox, Massachusetts; and Miami Beach, Florida. Just like many other luxury spas, the management at the Canyon Ranch Resort & Hotel believe that you should enjoy a sumptuous gourmet – although still healthy meals after a hard day’s workout.

The caloric, fat and fiber content of each dish are listed so that you can make a healthy eating decision for yourself.

6. The CuisinArt Resort & Spa

This luxury resort and spa is situated on the stretch of Anguilla beach at the British West Indies where you can stay at scenic beach-front rooms.

The 93 luxurious guest rooms and suites have access to the Venus Spa which is a full-service spa, salon and fitness center. The mouthwatering dishes that you will eat here come from the unique hydroponic farm and organic garden maintained by the resort.

7. Green Valley Spa & Weight Loss Clinic

As the name implies, this is both a spa and a weight loss clinic which is dubbed as being one of the top three spas in the world by Travel and Leisure.

What makes this mid-sized spa a standout is the Green Valley Spa Weight Loss Program which is proven to be virtually 100% effective. The program guarantees that you will lose at least one pound a day.

The Green Valley Spa has sub-facilities like the Eden Medical Center, the Bridge Health Recovery Center and they also offer Turning Leaf seminars. Their packages include the Total Health Package and the Core Wellness Package which includes access to stress-melting treatments, fitness lectures, wellness classes and daily hikes to Utah’s scenic backcountry.

When spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a short stay at one of these luxury health spas, make sure that the personnel at the establishment where you plan to lose weight does not offer an unrealistic diet plan.

If you have a lot of excess pounds to shed, it’s better to take things slowly, lose weight the healthy way and take home with you the type of proper exercising techniques and healthy eating lifestyle that you will learn at these establishments.

After all, maintaining a healthy weight should not be a one-time deal. Instead, it’s a lifetime commitment that you need to see through so that you can be 100% satisfied with your weight and more importantly, learn how to properly care for your health.

Eat right, exercise, reduce stress, rest, gets lots of sleep and your are well on your way to maximizing your hair growth potential. You can either take a good supplement that contains the necessary vitamins and minerals or you can make up your own formula.

I have personally had some long term success (at least for me) with the Botanic Choice, put link, vitamins that are specifically designed to assist the body with the maximum hair growth building blocks.

While eating the proper foods that contain all the necessary vitamins and minerals will help, it is a lot more difficult to guarantee that you will get all the vitamins and minerals you need from the foods you eat.

List of Supplements

taking the following supplements every day can boost hair growth for many people:

Vitamin B-complex – 50 mg. of the major B-vitamins (including folate, biotin and inositol) Vitamin B-6 – 50 mg. of vitamin B-6 Vitamin C with bioflavonoids – one to two grams daily Vitamin E – 400 to 800 IU daily Beta-Carotene – 10,000 to 15,000 IU of beta-carotene daily One recommended daily dose of magnesium, sulfur, zinc Silica (horsetail) – 300 mg. daily Nettle – 250 mg. three times daily Flaxseed oil – one tbsp daily or one tablet Beta-Carotene – 10,000 to 15,000 IU of beta-carotene daily

Verseo is another leading of hair growth, hair loss, electrolysis, beauty and wellness items that we have great experience and results. The company has been in business for more than 10 years, and is located on Madison Avenue in New York. The products are well-known around the world and extensively marketed via infomercials, print, and home shopping channels such as HSN and QVC. Some of the more popular products include the ePen Permanent Home Hair Removal System, Hair Plus Shampoo, and the Lasertron Hair Growth Brush – which has been featured heavily in USA Today.

Hair Growing Tips

Some hair loss experts have discovered that people have excellent hair growing results by following the Zone Diet, which is low in fat. Many other hair care experts recommend the Zone Diet as very helpful for hair care concerns.

Here are some other hair growing tips:

Eliminate or cut back on smoking, caffeine and carbonated sodas which weaken the body and block maximum hair growing potential. Eat a healthy diet. Avoid foods that are high in sugar or fat. Treat your hair like a piece of fine old lace. Treat it carefully avoiding any unnecessary brushing, combing or handling. Avoid use of hot water, hot blow dryers or other hair care tools that may stress the hair. Have a weekly scalp massage to provide stimulation to the hair follicles. Do a series of ongoing hot oil treatments to protect the hair’s shaft. Have regular trims to eliminate split ends and allow the hair to look and feel healthier. Get plenty of rest and sleep to allow your body to grow hair.
